Genius actually started his career at the age of 9yrs old under the
name of Sammy Dee through the inspiration of his uncle, who also
inspired many other uk acts. Genius actually started out as a singer.
& was the lead singer & band leader for young band Natural
Vibes. The band supported such groups like, Jah Foundation, & also
was guest band on dates with the legendary Jah Shaka.
The Natural Vibes band was doing live shows, and even appearing in theatre productions for The Lewisham Academy of music which the Genius learned his trade, and also done shows for The Albany Empire & Triangle Music Workshop which was founded by his uncle Anthony Fergus.
The Genius also became a selector at the age of nine years old & asked for help from a elder friend to help him build a sound system, which Genius named Ragin Lion named after a record label formed by another friend Phillip Napoleon.
1n 1988 Genius then known as Sammy Dee first radio appearance was on Festival Radio a legal station in Brighton & then went on to appear on charity radio in the mid 90s and then went on to Genesis Radio & Crystal FM.
As a musician Genius as worked with some of the Uks & Jas premier artistes like Al Campbell, Wayne (G Spot) Marshall, Pamela Maynard, Johnny Orlando, Sandeeno who he currently works with & has a album coming with him in 2k7, also Lorna Asher whos X Factor became a number 6 reggae chart hit in 1999.
After the success with X Factor he went to record for various producers & record labels & has never ever looked back since...... Genius now runs One UK Distributions here in the United Kingdom dealing with the very best in reggae music & more
